Marriage
Child-rearing
Home management
Cooking
Food
Money management
Gardening
Arts and Crafts

Hospitality
Baking
Laundering
Clothing
Skills
Caring for others
Social skills
Holidays and celebrations
Sewing
Character
Womanhood
Motherhood
Wifehood (or is it wifery?)
Health
Home health care
Proverbs 31
Dress and personal appearance
Hope chests
Making things for hope chests
Family living
Child care
Child development
Safety
Planning, priorities, etc.
Modesty
Purity

There are probably many more. I'm not an expert on all of these topics but I think I could adequately do something with them. :-)

That sounds like a good goal! Cooking is an important skill and "one home-cooked meal a week" sounds quite doable for you right now. When you get comfortable with that, perhaps you could increase it to two meals a week.

It feels like I am talking a lot, but I just like being involved in these discussions...lol....One goal that I am going to begin working on will be to cook at home more....it sounds vague, but my goal is to cook at least one home-cooked meal our family can share together a week....Because I hardly ever cook (and my cooking skills are much to be desired) I believe that this goal would help me immensely to become better equipped to serve my husband and kids someday...

I believe that I am lacking in this area in the means of practical application. I have very young nieces that I spend time with, but I've quickly learned that I need to learn more in this area! They run me ragged!! LOL...I guess I have been so busy with my own life right now (translation: school, work, church) that I don't have much time with them, especially in the area of going somewhere alone with them. My sister in law's sister, whom I work with, and myself took our nieces out to lunch and I was a nervous mess...because I was not used to having them with me. I believe that I have a lot ot learn...

I agree that we need to understand our definition of a "successful marriage" and "happy home". I also like the probing questions on how to achieve these goals. These questions really made me think about what I believe, how I want to achieve these things, etc....thanks!

Thank you for sharing.

It can be hard to express "what it is I want" but at least trying forces us to think. :-)

One of the most important things, I think, is to recognize whether we are working toward what we really want or toward goals that we really DON'T want to achieve.

This really touches me: ". . . having a well organized home that he will want to come home to. . . " in both heart-warming and convicting ways. ;-) I want that too and it's something I need to work toward.
